My shameful secrect, well revelation rather.

So since I've been a vegetarian now for 9 days or so, I've learned a lot of things. However I must expose a dirty secret of mine! While, being a vegetarian is usually linked to eating healthy and it does have huge health benefits, I find that I don't want to eat healthy all the time, and since I can't eat meat, I find my self shoveling my face with candy bars!!!!! AHHH! I have eaten more candy bars in the last week then in probably my whole life combined! I'm not even adding the amount of gummy bears I consume in one day, since to me that is a whole different food group all together for me. More of the Gummy bears later. Until the next post! Fuck the meat!

First time eating at a Vegetarian/Vegan Resturant!

So me and my partner, Michael decided we wanted to eat a Vegetarian/Vegan restaurant. We decided at first the Chicago Diner, how ever the wait was a bit much. So we went to Pick Me Up Cafe, not 100% vegetarian restaurant, but catered to vegetarians and vegans alike.

We started off with Hummus and Scrapdilia as appetizers.

For an entree, I had the Gnocchi,Gnocchi, Who's there?

The food was amazing! The Gnocchi was cooked perfectly! I didn't realize that being a Vegetarian would open my eyes to new tastes and new adventures in food. Until the next post! Fuck the meat!

F--K The Meat!

I'm Michael; this blog was created so I can journal and blog (which I guess maybe the same thing?) about my journey through becoming a Vegetarian. I have for the past 27 years of my life eaten meat, mostly red for all of my meals. I am still on the fence if I can do Vegan, but my personality is the type that if I can't do it 100% I don't want to try to do it. There are certain joys in life that I don't know I can give up. But we'll see as my journey begins to make shape, it might be an easy transition.

What made me decide to become Vegetarian are 2 reasons, first and the most important. When I met my Fiancé, he was a vegetarian. We dated for about a month or 2 before I converted him back to a meat eater! I thought it was a great achievement! Looking back, it makes me feel guilty, I pressured him to eat meat constantly, and since he converted back to a meat eater he gained weight, his health started to change. We decided to take charge in our lives, and began a diet that was full of eating (P90X Diet), since he also has Kidney's that don't function correctly; he has to watch his protein intake. Because of this, the diet from P90X scared me, especially since we were to consume 9 daily servings of protein. So he asked me if I'd become Vegetarian and give it a try, for his sake. I said sure, why not.

The second reason is because of a video I saw on a website called meat.org this website helped me solidify my decision on becoming a Vegetarian. The brutality that goes on to these poor animals is just 100% unfair! The people that are throwing "underweight" piglets on the ground and laughing about it, is just plain and simple sick! You have to wonder how these people function in life, if they can harm helpless animals, I'd hate to be their family and friends! Dragging cows with fork lifts?! WHAT THE FUCK! It makes me angry!

So, after making the decision to become Vegetarian, I was like - GREAT, NOW I HAVE TO EAT VEGETABLES! Let me just be very frank, I fucking hate vegetables! I'm also allergic to Mushrooms! I would only eat green beans, and rarely did I eat a salad!
So my first biggest hurtle is -TO LIKE VEGETABLES! This is probably going to be my number 1 challenge in this great journey!
So, welcome to my blog about my journey. I will post random findings along the way, and talk about my challenges I face, and some AH HA moments that I learn. I entered in this journey with an opened mind and opened mouth to new tastes and I challenged myself to try every vegetable 2 times before I honestly say I hate it!
So here's to becoming a vegetarian!
